Bitmain’s new Kadena miner

The new Bitmain Antminer KA3 is a miner from the world’s leading manufacturer. It can mine in the Kadena ecosystem, a Proof-of-Work (PoW) cryptocurrency network. The Antminer KA3 was introduced during an event organized by Bitmain, Antpool, Kadena, and Hashfrog.

As expected from Bitmain, the Antminer KA3 is exceptionally efficient while producing industry-leading hash rates. The KA3 produces a hash rate of 166 terahashes per second while consuming 3154 watts, which brings its efficiency to 19 J/T.

Bitmain expands Antminers line further

With the launch of the new Antminer, Bitmain further expands its miners to other ecosystems. Head of Marketing at Bitmain Xmei Lin stated during the launch event that she firmly believes in PoW-technology as a fundament for crypto networks. And to further boost the technology, Bitmain launched this new miner and will donate three Antminer KA3’s to support Kadena’s Research and Development efforts.

Furthermore, Bitmain states that the collaboration between the manufacturer, Hash Frog, and Antpool further improves the cooperation between mining and energy industries, strengthening the long-term investment thesis for crypto miners.

Kadena is a smart contract blockchain network, like Ethereum, that aims to improve the scalability of these types of networks. With its Chainweb PoW mechanism, Kadena miners mine multiple individual chains that work parallel to each other. Thanks to this approach, Kadena can theoretically process large amounts of transactions. Second-layer solutions are, therefore, unnecessary as the base-layer is scalable for mass adoption.
