Canaan Inc. (NASDAQ: CAN), a global leader in blockchain technology and cryptocurrency mining solutions, is excited to introduce its latest innovation – the A14 series, a groundbreaking line of mining hardware designed to advance the cryptocurrency industry.
Key Highlights of the A14 Series:
1. Avalon Made A1466 – 150T: This mining powerhouse boasts an impressive hash rate of 150 TH/s while consuming a mere 3230 Watts, resulting in an exceptional power efficiency of 21.5 J/TH. Known for its unrivaled efficiency and stability, it’s the ideal choice for miners seeking peak performance.
2. Avalon Made A1446 – 135T: The A1446 – 135T, another star performer in the A1466 series, offers a hash rate of 135 TH/s and a power consumption of 3310 Watts. It achieves an impressive power efficiency of 24.5 J/TH, reflecting its remarkable efficiency and stability.
3. Avalon Made Immersion Cooling Miner A1466I: The Immersion Cooling Miner A1466I is a game-changer in the cryptocurrency mining landscape. With a staggering hash rate of up to 170 TH/s and an astonishing power efficiency of 19.5 J/TH, this innovative miner is designed to reduce costs per terabyte, operate silently, support safer overclocking, and ensure superior durability. It employs immersion cooling technology, where individual modules operate seamlessly within a liquid coolant, delivering a virtually noiseless mining experience. Additionally, this technology reduces heat dissipation, leading to cost savings on cooling and prolonging machine lifespan by eliminating dust particles.
The A14 series signifies Canaan Inc.’s commitment to advancing the global blockchain ecosystem.
In mid-August, Bitmain expressed its intention to launch a new Antminer with an efficiency rating of 1X joules per terahash (J/TH). Shortly after, Canaan announced plans to unveil a novel product, providing limited details. Canaan has since revealed that their upcoming release will belong to the Avalon 14 series, sharing the same efficiency level of 1X J/TH.
Currently, the leading application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) bitcoin miners on the market have an efficiency rating of 20 joules or higher per terahash. However, this landscape is poised to change in the coming month as two major bitcoin mining rig manufacturers are set to introduce a new generation of mining products.
For instance, Bitmain will present its innovative mining product at the 2023 World Digital Mining Summit (WDMS) in Hong Kong from September 22 to 23. This product, incorporated into the Antminer S21 line, is projected to achieve an efficiency rating of 1X joules per terahash (J/T). This translates to an efficiency ratio below 20, making these rigs more efficient than current leading miners.
Following Bitmain’s S21 announcement, Canaan revealed their own groundbreaking product plans. Canaan has now shared additional information about the upcoming Avalon or A14 series. In a promotional advertisement for the forthcoming “Avalon Bitcoin & Crypto Day” convention in Singapore, Canaan has disclosed that the new A14 series will also feature an efficiency rating of 1X J/T.
While both prominent mining rig manufacturers have confirmed enhanced efficiency, specific terahash per second output details remain undisclosed. Miners eagerly anticipate devices that deliver increased terahash per second (TH/s) alongside improved efficiency in joules per terahash, particularly with the upcoming BTC halving event on the horizon. The “Avalon Bitcoin & Crypto Day” conference is scheduled to take place in just one week, on September 12.
