One of the biggest bitcoin ASIC mining machine manufacturers, MicroBT, has recently launched three new WhatsMiner models. One of these new miners has taken the top spot and is now the most powerful bitcoin miner on the market.
WhatsMiner M53S++
During Bitcoin2023, the company announced three new models in its WhatsMiner-series ASIC miners. The MicroBT WhatsMiner M53S++ utilizes water cooling and produces 320 terahashes per second (TH/s). With its computing power, the machine is the most powerful ASIC miner currently available.
Its computing power is generated with an efficiency of 22 joules per terahash (J/T). While it is more powerful than its main competitor, Bitmain’s Antminer S19 XP Hydro, it has to leave the top spot in efficiency to Bitmain. The Antminer delivers 257 TH/s with 20,8 J/T, making it more efficient.
Bitcoin mining for sustainable goals
MicroBT also announced the WhatsMiner M56S++, which uses immersion cooling to cool down the ASIC miner while mining. In immersion cooling, the bitcoin mining hardware is submerged in a bath of non-conductive coolant. The heat produced by the mining hardware is directly transferred to the coolant, which is then cooled using a heat exchanger or some other means.
The M56S++ delivers 230 TH/s with the same efficiency as the M53S++, 22 J/T. Furthermore, MicroBT announced the air-cooled M50S++. This more traditional miner delivers 150 TH/s with 22 J/T efficiency.
The manufacturer seems to focus on sustainable energy with its new launch. During his speech at Bitcoin2023, MicroBT founder Dr. Yang stated that he believes that bitcoin mining can offer a solution for the energy transition the world is making.
“He believes that WhatsMiner hydro-cooling and immersion cooling mining rigs can not only have stable operation, high density, low-noise, low failure rate, and low maintenance cost, but also bring Bitcoin mining to a new era defined by its environmental-friendly and social responsibility.”
Dr. Yang mentioned some examples of what role BTC miners could fulfill. “For WhatsMiner hydro-cooling Bitcoin mining rigs, the outlet water temperature can be over 70℃(158℉)” further adding that “heat can be collected by water or oil which can be used for manufacturing and living. The utilization can be over 90% which means almost zero carbon emission.”
